AI & content policy
Tiny Cinema is for making your own films from your own songs and ideas. This page says what you can make, what you can't, and what you owe your audience when you publish.
What's allowed
- Your own songs, scripts, lyrics and footage.
- Material you have a licence or written permission to use.
- Fiction: invented characters, places and events.
- Music videos, shorts, ads and pitches built from any of the above.
What's not allowed
- Real people or their voices without written consent. That includes performers, public figures and private people.
- Sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance. We close the account and report it to the relevant authorities.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, real or synthetic.
- Infringing content: songs, footage, characters or artwork you don't have the rights to use.
- Deceptive political deepfakes: content that makes a candidate, official or election event appear to say or do something they did not.
- Impersonating brands or organisations, or passing your film off as theirs.
- Harassment, threats, or content made to humiliate a real person.
- Attacks on the service: malware, prompt injection against the Copilot or connector, scraping other studios, or trying to get around access controls.
Real people: the consent rule
When you pin a photo, clip or voice of a real person as a reference, you confirm that the person has given consent to be depicted this way. If the person is you, that's consent. If it's someone else, get their permission in writing and keep it. We may ask to see it.
Consent to be filmed is not the same as consent to be generated. Make sure your permission covers AI-generated images, video or voice.
Who owns the renders
We claim no ownership in what you upload or render. As between you and us, you hold whatever rights exist in your renders. Each render is also subject to the licence of the model that produced it, which we pass through unchanged. Studio settings → Providers shows which models your studio uses.
Renders are machine-generated. We don't promise they are unique, accurate, free of resemblance to real people, places or works, or protectable by copyright. Any copyright in your film may rest in your own selection and editing.
Experimental models
Some models are offered for experimentation; the model card says when a model's licence does not cover commercial delivery. Read the card before you deliver a film to a client or sell it. If the card says experimental, re-render the shots on a model cleared for commercial use.
Labelling AI content when you publish
Laws and platforms increasingly require you to say when content is AI-generated. That duty is yours as the publisher. Today that means at least:
- YouTube: switch on "Altered or synthetic content" when uploading. AI-generated music counts.
- TikTok: turn on the AI-generated content label.
- Instagram and Facebook: mark the post as AI-generated so Meta shows its AI info label.
- Paid ads shown in New York: add the line "This advertisement contains a synthetic performer." when the ad uses one.
The EU AI Act will require AI-generated media to carry a machine-readable mark. We are adding that mark to Tiny Cinema exports. Don't strip it, and don't remove a provider's own watermark.
Suggested end-card and description text
You can paste this into your video's end card or description, then fill in the brackets:
This video contains AI-generated imagery and sound. Scenes, locations and performers are synthetic and do not depict real events; any resemblance to real persons is unintended. Music: "[Title]" by [Artist], used with the artist's permission. Made with Tiny Cinema using [models used].
If the music is your own, say so instead of "used with the artist's permission".
How we enforce this policy
Studios are private, so we mostly act on reports and on the signals providers send us when they block a request. When something breaks this policy, we may:
- remove the content from the studio, so no member can reach it;
- block further renders on that studio;
- suspend or close the account;
- report it to the authorities where the law requires, and always for sexual content involving minors.
Model providers run their own filters. A provider may refuse a prompt or reference even when this policy would allow it.
How to report
Write to [email protected]. Tell us what the content is, where you saw it, and why it breaks this policy.
Intimate imagery of you, shared or made without your consent: we remove it within 48 hours of a valid request. See the 48-hour removal path for what to include.
For copyright claims, use our copyright and takedown process.
